Additional Information
(Portable Sawmilling)
Backwoods Custom Milling Inc. is a family run business that is serving the west coast from our backwoods to yours. Owner/operator has over 15 years of sawmill background as well as a background in forestry and forest management. We run the largest fully hydraulic, computer controlled, thin kerf, portable sawmill made by Woodmizer. This allows us to produce a quality product to the customer’s specifications and in a timely manner. We cut both hardwoods and softwoods at affordable prices with a clean and safe work site.
Our goal is to provide customers with affordable options for turning logs into quality lumber. Logs that do not meet the large mills specifications that can still produce marketable lumber do not have to be lost. Our portability allows customers the option to save on transporting log costs. It also allows customers to observe the processing of the logs. Many of our customers use the lumber they were involved in producing for improvements to their homes, farms, ranches, and businesses. Other customers profit by selling their lumber for more than the value of the logs on the open market. Woodworkers and craftsman are able to obtain quantities of custom cut wood for their projects from their own logs. Portable sawmilling is proving to be a valuable tool for many log owners.
